Course Objective
To comprehend that sustainable development can be with sustainable environment. To teach environmental, economic and social problems arising from technology and industry.
Brief Content of the Course
To realize sustainable development with a sustainable environment. Basic ecological concepts and principles, as well as the effects of humans on ecosystems and nature. Effects of industrial and urban activities on the environment. Ways to achieve sustainable development with a sustainable environment. Water pollution; physical, chemical and biological water quality parameters, drinking water standards, water and wastewater treatment systems. Air pollution; Past, present and future of air pollution, characteristics of pollutants, effects of air pollution, effects of meteorological events on air quality, control of air pollution. Solid wastes; Types, sources and properties of solid waste, environmental impacts, waste management. Measures to be taken for a sustainable environment.
