Course Objective
The concept of knowledge economy, knowledge and discovery that has gained importance with the introduction of technology plays a key role in the economy. Economies are increasingly based on more knowledge and information. Computer industry and education, and requiring advanced technology, such as electronic, knowledge-intensive sectors such as communications and information services is growing faster. Developments in information and communication technologies have emerged some clear and lasting impact on the economy as a result. The importance of knowledge on the one hand, technological investment, quality of products and the company has increased productivity and profitability. Storing the information on the other hand, the cost of the transfer to be decreased and assay. Thus, access to information has become easier and cheaper. These developments have led to significant structural and qualitative changes in the economy. Therefore, the features of the knowledge economy is different from the traditional economy. Knowledge is the main source of wealth in the economy of knowledge. Increasing productivity and economic growth, technological progress, research and development are determined by higher skilled labor grows through information gathering and education. Electronic commerce and are among the other factors that play a role in the emergence of the knowledge economy rapidly globalizing economic activity. To this end, the identification of developments in the world and to discuss strategies to adapt to form the course.
Brief Content of the Course
First of all, information will be given about the concept of knowledge and other areas (production, consumption, investment, employment, social capital, e-commerce, innovation) of the knowledge economy to be in a relationship.Then the relationship with economic growth of the knowledge economy will be discussed with the concept of R & D and innovation. In the course of the coming week, Turkey and other countries in science, technology and innovation policy will be compared.
