SUSTAINABLE IRRIGATION AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRACTICES

Sustainable irrigation practices implemented at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University's Bor Halil Zöhre Ataman Vocational School aim to strengthen green areas and ensure efficient water use throughout the campus.

Under the coordination of our Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Yavuzer, irrigation activities on the campus have been carried out regularly for months. As part of the project, significant water savings have been achieved by using waste mussel shells in the cleaning of greywater and rainwater.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yavuzer thanked the Rector of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, for his valuable support to all the work carried out within our school. Stating that the Rector's leadership and guidance in realizing the university's environmentally conscious vision is a great source of motivation for them, Yavuzer expressed that thanks to the support provided, projects focused on sustainability, water management, and environmentally friendly practices continue more strongly and resolutely. Yavuzer emphasized that the university's contributions to expanding environmentally focused initiatives across all campuses have made a significant difference, adding that Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu's approach has greatly contributed to institutional development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yavuzer stated that green spaces have been strengthened with a sustainable irrigation system, that recycling-based environmental practices support the ecological cycle, and that they enrich the aesthetic appearance of the campus. He added that they are resolutely continuing with environmentally focused practices.
