Course Objective
The aim is to enable students to become familiar with public and private sector work areas in the field of environmental engineering, to observe processes such as environmental protection, water and wastewater treatment, air quality management, solid waste and energy recovery applications, and to gain professional experience by applying the theoretical knowledge and engineering skills they have acquired during their education.
Brief Content of the Course
It is a hands-on process that aims to enable environmental engineering students to apply the theoretical knowledge and engineering skills they acquired during their undergraduate studies to practical application, gain professional experience in line with environmental management and sustainability principles, and develop engineering ethics, work discipline, and adaptability to field conditions. The student submits the Internship Evaluation Form to an authorized representative at the institution or business where they completed their internship. Upon completion of the internship, this form is completed and approved by the authorized representative. It is then mailed to the relevant department in a sealed envelope bearing the institution's stamp or seal, or hand-delivered by the student. As part of the internship, the student will conduct on-site observations of an environmental engineering application (e.g., wastewater treatment, air emission control, solid waste management, environmental monitoring, or project design) being implemented at their institution.
