1 | 1. The aim of the course is to teach the diagnostic, planning, and treatment protocols required prior to the fabrication of fixed and complete dentures in prosthodontic treatment. 2. To enable comprehension of the stages of cementation in fixed prostheses and the critical considerations at each stage. 3. To ensure the internalization of patient education and oral hygiene principles in prosthodontic treatment. 4. To develop the ability to fabricate custom trays and wax rims. 5. To enable the planning of fixed prostheses for patients with periodontal problems. 6. To develop the ability to plan the tooth selection, arrangement, and wax-up process. 7. To provide the competence to select appropriate post-core restorations in cases of extensive tooth structure loss. 8. To ensure comprehension of the try-in and adjustment processes in complete dentures. 9. To develop the ability to identify and manage prosthetic complications. 10. To ensure knowledge of restorative materials used in fixed prostheses. 11. To provide knowledge of polymerization methods and materials used in complete dentures. 12. To teach the registration of jaw relationships and the use of articulators in complete dentures. 13. To enable the selection of appropriate impression techniques and materials for fixed prosthesis impressions. 14. To develop the ability to plan complete denture fabrication by considering relevant anatomical structures. 15. To create basic awareness of CAD/CAM applications and digital techniques. 16. To teach intraoral pre-prosthetic examination and diagnostic model evaluation. |
