Course Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to gain knowledge and skills about children with special needs and their general characteristics, reasons for having special needs, diagnosis and education, inclusion practices and working with families.
Brief Content of the Course
Basic concepts related to special education, principles and historical development of special education, legal regulations related to special education, diagnosis and evaluation in special education, individualization of teaching, inclusion and support special education services, family participation in education and cooperation with family, characteristics of different disability and ability groups, educational approaches and teaching strategies for different groups, effective strategies in classroom management and behavior management.
