Course Objective
Introducing awareness of radiation, living organisms, and the environment. Introducing the concepts of radiation and radioactivity and their dimensions. Introducing life in environments with radiation. Measuring radioactivity in our surroundings and the techniques used in measurement. The Radiation and Environmental Science course aims to not only provide theoretical knowledge but also instill social responsibility and environmental awareness in students. Environmentally friendly technologies developed for nuclear power plants and radiation applications produce less waste and reduce the impact on the environment. The safe management of radioactive waste contributes to sustainable development goals by preventing environmental pollution. Students gain knowledge about using radiation in a sustainable way that does not harm the environment and about environmental safety. Additionally, this course contributes to the development of environmentally friendly technologies through innovative research.
Brief Content of the Course
