Course Objective
This course provides an overview on the state of art of airborne and terrestrial laser scanning techniques, potential applications, pre-processing and post-processing and analysis of point clouds, problems and suggestions of solutions, the concept of 3D object modelling from point clouds.
Brief Content of the Course
Physical and geometric Fundamentals of airborne, terrestrial laser scanners; Geometric transformations for airborne, terrestrial laser scanner data’s; Pre-processing of the airborne, terrestrial point clouds. Mesh generation from airborne, terrestrial point clouds; 3D object modelling algorithms and software for airborne, terrestrial point cloud processing; The problems and solutions for 3D object modelling of airborne, terrestrial laser scanning data.
