Course Objective
To teach civil engineering and its working areas by giving basic concepts about engineering and to evaluate civil engineering working areas in terms of safety, economy, environmental impact, and sustainability.
Brief Content of the Course
To give general introductory information about the history of civil engineering, basic concepts related to civil engineering, water structures, reinforced concrete structures, steel structures, wooden structures, soil mechanics and foundations, and transportation systems. Introduce the total quality approach that takes into account health, safety, economy, environmental impact, and sustainability variables in the design, construction, and management stages of construction projects.
