Course Objective
1. To give students general information about ore preparation, as well as information about the crushing, grinding, and classification methods applied in today's mining industry, the principles of the devices used, their application areas and the calculations to be used in process applications. 2. It is aimed to demonstrate laboratory experiments related to ore preparation processes and to evaluate and interpret experimental data. 3.As educated part of the society, to direct students to reflect their citizenship awareness, to their working habits. 5. To educate graduates who have acquired knowladge to solve the ethical problems encountered in technological and scietific developments.
Brief Content of the Course
Introduction to Mineral Processing: The Role and Importance of Mineral Processing in Mining and Metallurgy; Size Reduction Theories, Crushing and Crushing Equipment, Crushing and Screening Circuits, Sieve Analysis, Sampling and Reduction Methods; Grinding: Ball, Rod and Autogenous Mills, Classification: Free and Obstructed Settling, Classification Equipment, Hydrocyclone, Grinding and Classification Circuits, Testing and Calculations.
