Course Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in facility planning, site selection, and layout design in production and service enterprises. Students learn the stages of facility establishment, factors affecting site selection, principles of workplace layout, and systematic layout planning methods, thereby gaining the ability to design an optimum facility layout in terms of efficiency, cost, safety, and sustainability.
Brief Content of the Course
This course covers the basic concepts of facility planning, principles of site selection and layout design, material and workflow organization, workplace arrangement methods, capacity planning, space requirement calculations, computer-aided layout planning techniques, and issues related to ergonomics and occupational safety. The course addresses the stages of facility design in production and service systems through a systematic and analytical approach.
