Course Objective
Introduction to Cinema provides students with an understanding of the history, theory, and techniques of cinema as an art form, describing the cultural and aesthetic significance, critical analysis, and structural features of cinema.
Brief Content of the Course
In this course, first the concept of narrative will be discussed in detail, then a comprehensive introduction will be made to the history of cinema, how narrative is formed in cinema. Then, the basic concepts of the art of cinema will be conveyed. The transition from silent cinema to the sound era and the main movements of world cinema, its leading directors and basic cinema history information will be given with examples from their works.
