Course Objective
The aim of the Director's Cinema Course is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the filmmaking techniques, artistic visions and impacts of directors who have gained an important place in world cinema.
Brief Content of the Course
The Director's Cinema Course focuses on understanding the works of directors who have left their mark on the world of contemporary and classical cinema and the creative process of these works. Within the scope of the course, directors and their works that can be considered as milestones in the history of cinema such as Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa, Stanley Kubrick, Atıf Yılmaz will be examined. Students will make an analytical evaluation of the filmographies of these great names by focusing on the directors' personal styles, narrative techniques, thematic preferences and contributions to the history of cinema. In addition, an in-depth exploration of the directors' artistic visions will be provided through various film screenings and critical readings throughout the course.
