Course Objective
With this course, teacher candidates are expected to gain the aims, principles and methods of first reading and writing, and to be able to teach sound-based teaching reading and writing. To be able to comprehend the first reading and writing teaching.
Brief Content of the Course
Reading and its importance, listening, speaking, visual reading and visual presentation; reading, writing learning areas and the relationship between them, Characteristics of Turkish and its effect on teaching reading and writing; approaches to teaching reading and writing, reading and writing the aims and principles of teaching, the basic characteristics of first grade teachers and students in terms of teaching first reading and writing; first readiness (student) and preparation (teacher) for reading and writing, failure in teaching reading and writing and its causes, tools and equipment used in teaching primary reading and writing (characteristics, selection, creation and use of tools); primary reading and methods applied in teaching writing (definitions, characteristics, classification, applications, superiority and limitations); sound-based sentence method (definition, principles, features, stages and application), sound-based sentence method reading and writing teaching practices in line with the stages of reading and writing, development of vocabulary, development of first reading and writing assessment, primary literacy teaching and the use of technology.
