Course Objective
To enable students to understand the fundamental concepts of listening skills, their place in the curriculum, and their relationship with other language skills; and to design materials, activities, and assessment processes focused on listening in Turkish language teaching.
Brief Content of the Course
Conduct activities that develop listening skills. Understand the relationship between listening activities and reading, writing, and speaking skills. Focus on determining attention spans and activities related to retention and comprehension. Use various audio and visual communication tools to demonstrate comprehensive listening-comprehension and selective listening-comprehension activities. Demonstrate and introduce various listening/viewing exercises for use in Turkish lessons, and provide opportunities for students to develop these exercises themselves. Conduct various listening/viewing exercises in class.
