The project, supported by the Vice-Rectorate of Research, focuses on the 'Technical and Economic Analysis of Avocado (Persea americana Mill) Production in Semi-Arid Areas of the Tacna Region


The project titled "Análisis técnico y económico de la producción de paltos (persea americana Mill) en zonas semiáridas de la Región Tacna" aims to contribute technical support and economic analysis to avocado producers in the semi-arid areas of the Tacna region. The specific objectives of the project are to determine nutritional and water deficiencies in the main avocado-producing zones in the region and to establish economic indicators and profitability measures to assist avocado producers in decision-making. The project involves collaboration with the Asociación de Frutas de Tacna (AFRUTAC), a non-profit organization representing fruit producers in the Tacna region, as well as the participation of Dr. Tefide Kizildeniz from Nigde Omer Halisdemir University, an expert in plant physiology and nutrition. Additionally, the Universidad Nacional Jorge Basadre Grohmann (UNJBG), through its Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, provides financial support and supervises the research.
