26 May 2022 Within the scope of the Turkish Vegetation Geography course conducted by Prof. Dr. Türkan Bayer Altın, field work and technical trips were carried out with the course students to the Amanos Mountains and Titus tunnels in Samandağ.
Within the scope of the lecture, where Prof. Dr. Türkan Bayer Altın explained the development stages of the Asi Delta, the reasons for the disappearance of prehistoric coastal settlements and the construction of the Titus Tunnels, the effects of landslides in the Amanos Mountains, climate and topographic factors on plant distribution were also discussed and how plants should be stored (plant pruning) was also conveyed to the students as necessary.
Making a statement on the subject, Prof. Dr. Türkan Bayer Altın said, “Having our lesson in touch with nature was an unforgettable memory. The technical trip was attended by Dr. Mesut Gök, Dr. Sug Kyong Kang and Research Assistant Elif Kahya also supported. I think the event was very useful for our students. Local people also made a great contribution to the field work. “I would like to thank all our supporters,” she said.
