Curvilinear coordinates and introduction to tensor analysis. 2)Linear vector spaces,linear independence, orthogonality, Gram-Schmidt method, determinant. Symmetric,aniysymmetric, Hermitian, unitary matrices and their properties eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Cayley-hamilton theorem, Jordan canonical form and the diagonilzation of linear operators. 3)Ordinary Differential equations: Strum-Liouville theory and orthogonal functions. Special functions: Bessel. Legendre differential equations, hypergeometric differential equations.
