Our faculty member Dr. Mehmet Nadir Kurnaz's project has received support from TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey).
The project titled "Machine Learning Supported Hybrid Microwave Imaging System for the Detection of Neck Pathologies," led by Prof. Dr. Yasemin Altuncu, a faculty member of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, and with Dr. Mehmet Nadir Kurnaz, a faculty member of our Faculty, as a researcher, has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 1001 – Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program.
The project aims to analyze data obtained from phantom structures with dielectric properties similar to biological tissues using machine learning-based methods, to realize high-accuracy microwave imaging systems, and to reliably detect pathological structures in the neck region. The study offers an interdisciplinary and original approach in the field of artificial intelligence-supported biomedical imaging.
As the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, we share our satisfaction with this valuable scientific project in which our faculty member is involved; we congratulate Dr. Mehmet Nadir Kurnaz and the project leader, Prof. Dr. Yasemin Altuncu, on this achievement. We congratulate Yasemin Altuncu and the entire project team and wish them continued success in their work.
