SWOT Analysis

Strenghts
1. There are Electrics Departments in Niğde and Bor Industrial Colleges which are the base of our program.
2. Student capacity of our program fills up completely at the placement examination which is done every year by ÖSYM.
3. Graduate students of our program have extensive opportunities of finding a job at factories or different establishments both in our region and out of it.
4. Our students don’t have difficulties in the applied lessons because they fulfill required background in Vocational Colleges before they are placed to the program.
5. There is enough amount of academic staff.
6. Lecturers have sufficient level of theoretical and practical knowledge on their field.
7. The sufficiency of machinery and fitment in our laboratory is adequate for gaining students required skill and knowledge.

Weaknesses
1. Since the school building is distant from the town centre, transportation problem hasn’t been solved sufficiently yet.
2. Computational background of the students who come from Vocational Colleges is not adequate.
3. The number of industrial enterprises in our region hasn’t reached the desired number yet.
4. The number of equipments which students can use when they do applications is not sufficient.
5. During the applications, there is lack of practicing equipment at times.

Opportunities
1. Electrics field is always an update and upstanding field.
2. Students have the opportunity of doing vertical transfer to 4-year faculties after they graduate from the school.
3. The communication with the other programs is socially decent
4. There is a peaceful education environment within the program.
5. Students will confront the applications that they have performed about their profession in the school in the vocational field.


Threats
1. Our college is far from the town centre and transportation problem from the centre to the school hasn’t been solved sufficiently yet.
2. The level of background of the students who come from the Vocational Colleges is decreasing every year and this reflects on the success of the students.
3. The lack of Master and Doctorate studies of the lecturers.
