The place and importance of Geography research is indisputable in our daily lives. Modern geography studies play a key role in solving and understanding of current issues such as global warming, desertification, biodiversity, conservation, pollution, urbanization, underdevelopment and globalization. The knowledge skills of program will be given in collaboration with the academic staff of other faculties by the academic staff of the department.

PO 1 The definition of geography, scope, historical development and knowing the phases of academic geography, understanding and ability to explain.

PO 2 To know the geographical concept and use the terminology of geography

PO 3 To explain and evaluate the events between human and natural environment thereby taking into account the fundamental principles (dağılış, nedensellik, bağıntı) of geography

PO 4 Understanding the importance of geography between disciplines, analyze the relationships between disciplines and ability to apply knowledge gained in the joint operation.

PO 5 To have general information about world geography and recognize continents and countries.

PO 6 To know, understand and analyze the general, regional and locational characteristics of the geography of Turkey and to know more closely Turkey.

PO 7 Data collection, production, analysis of geographical space and develop appropriate models in the digital environment.

PO 8 Keep up the world agenda and issues such as Globalization, urbanization, sustainability, global warming, biodiversity and find a solution to these issues.

PO 9 To apply the Geographic Information Systems, remote sensing, mapping techniques, climatological and meteorological techniques and so on and to prepare various maps in cartographic studies.

PO 10 To have the information in the geographical studies like basic computer, basic statistics and so on.

PO 11 Having information on current topics as nature conservation, eco-tourism, geoarchaeology, geoekology, photography and so on and is apply this knowledge in real life.

PO 12 To be able to contribute to the spread the whole life of conscious about the awareness and sensitivity in geographical environment and geographical setting

PO 13 To take individual responsibility in all the given studies such as homework, projects, reports and et cetera and to be able to produce various projects with gain the ability of a group consciousness

PO 14 Being able to read and understand foreign scientific studies and to have basic level foreign languages in order to establish a dialogue between colleagues

PO 15 To apply the geographical theoretical knowledge in field and laboratory environments.
