Within the scope of career days at Şehit Bora Çelik, Cumhuriyet and Şehit Yakup Avşar Anatolian High Schools, students were introduced to the Engineering profession and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Engineering departments. As part of the collaboration protocol between Niğde Provincial Directorate of National Education and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, a Vocational Introduction Seminar program was organized to guide students who will take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) in the 2023-2024 Academic Year in their career choices, to help students understand engineering departments, and to increase their motivation. In this program, students met with faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering.

UNDERGRADUATE DEPARTMENTS INTRODUCED

In the conference hall of Şehit Yakup Avşar Anatolian High School, the program covered fields such as Computer, Environmental, Electrical, Food, Surveying, Construction, Geology, Mining, Mechanical, and Mechatronics Engineering, as well as professional satisfaction and job opportunities. Information was provided about the educational staff, technical equipment, accommodation, and campus facilities of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, which is among Turkey's leading universities and has been frequently mentioned in recent years for its achievements. As part of the program, a presentation was made by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hande Baltacıoğlu and Res. Asst. Katibe Sinem Coruk to introduce the Food Engineering department.

APPRECIATION FROM THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL İSPİROĞLU

At the end of the program, which was followed with great interest by the students, the school principal İdris İspiroğlu expressed his gratitude. He stated that one of the aims of secondary education is to prepare students for life and higher education. In this sense, the support provided by Niğde Provincial Directorate of National Education and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University within the framework of the collaboration protocol is very important for us to prepare our students, who are the guarantee of our future, for life in the best way possible. He thanked especially our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Çiçek, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Murat Barut, and the department chair and academic staff who shared their knowledge with our students during the program. The program ended with the presentation of flowers and taking photographs.
