The closed area of ​​the education blocks of our school, which has a total area of ​​20,363 m², is 5234m². The total area is divided as 22 classrooms of 1281.90 m², 2 computer labs of 115.62 m², canteen of 182 m², Tourism Application Workshop of 130 m²and other departments are used as administrative and academic staff offices and common areas.

We maintain our education and training with 51 academics and 14 administrative personals.

Presentation

Niğde Social Sciences Vocational School is a higher education unit that provides a two-year vocational education that trains the intermediate staff that our country needs. It has graduated thousands of students for over thirty years to meet the needs of the country's industry. Our vocational school is one of the three units that presented during the establishment of Niğde University. While it was previously affiliated to Selcuk University, it has been affiliated to Niğde University since 1992 and has continued its development. With its strong faculty staff, 80% of the courses except the service courses are carried out by their own lecturers and departments affiliated to the Rectorate, while 20% are carried out by lecturers from other units of our university. Niğde Social Sciences Vocational School has made a significant progress in the institutionalization process compared to other vocational schools in the region, and continues its education with its traditional structure governed by institutional principles.

Our school also carries out evening education activities in 8 programs with its wide teaching staff.

A significant number of our graduates are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exams and gain the right to continue their undergraduate education.

HISTORY

Niğde Vocational School of Social Sciences started teaching in 1974 as a School of Life Sciences under YAYKUR with 1 lecturer, 2 civil servants and 1 attendant, affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. In 1983, vocational school had been moved to the building where current teaching has been provided. In 1989, the vocational school was moved to the building in Derbent Campus. The number of lecturers has been increased to six within five years since its inauguration. From 1978 to 1980, non-formal higher education students were transferred to our School that carries out the Departments of Machinery, Engine, Vital Sciences and Social Sciences with paid academic staff. Our School, which has been continuing its education with Business-Accounting, Engine, Electric Programs since 1980, was affiliated to the Selcuk University Rectorate with the decree law numbered 41 on 20.07.1982 and the Leatherworking Program was added in the 1990-91 academic year. With the establishment of Niğde University in 1992, it was transferred from Selçuk University to Niğde University by changing its statute with the Law numbered 3837 on 11.07.1992. Also, Leather Program within our school formed the core of Bor Vocational School.

In 2009, Niğde Vocational School, which was divided into two separated vocational schools, was restructured as transferring Accounting, Business Administration, Office Management and Secretariat, Tourism and Hotel Management, Local Administrations, Radio and Television Programming, Banking and Insurance Programs in the Department of Economics and Administrative Programs to Niğde Social Sciences Vocational School and also transferring Automotive, Construction, Radio and Television Broadcasting programs in the Technical Programs Department  to the Niğde Technical Sciences Vocational School.

20 years later, in 2009, Niğde Social Sciences Vocational School returned to its old building, which was used in 1989.
