The History of the Department

Teacher of Physical Education and Sports Department was establishedin 1992. The first graduate sin 1996. Master's program began in 1999. At the department of physical education and sport teacher have  1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors, 6 Lecturers and 1 Research Assistant.

Educational Facilities

Our faculty has 3 indoor sports halls, 1 tennis court, 1 carpet field, 1 Olympic athletics and football field, 1 physiology laboratory, 1 performance measurement laboratory, 1 anatomy class, 1 massage hall, 1 mountaineering room, 1 step aerobics and rhythmic gym. The faculty provides education and training services with 1 fitness center, 1 computer laboratory, 1 seminar hall and 9 classrooms.

Have training period of eight semesters. About 60 students of are admitted each year at department. The students upon successful completion of the department , take the title of Physical Education Teachers. Students who completed enough credits. When they have finished the department, also our graduates can be coach

Geographical Location

As typical central Anatolia city Nigde, which is situated in touristic Cappadocia area known for its natural settings and historical places, is also an touristic place with Old Roman Bath, Gumusler Monastery, Tyna Roman Waterways, some other historical places from Anatolian Seljuk Turks and Turkish Ottoman Empire era. Besides these historical values, Nigde city is surrounded by some of the beautiful and reknown mountains of Turkey, especially Bolkar and Aladaglar Mountains and Demirkazık trekking trails are some of the examples of rich availability of mountain sports.

With foundation and expansion of Nigde University during the last 20 years, the Nigde city has become a university centered and oriented city. Besides this fact, having economical living expenses, safe and cheap transportation in and out of city, adequate and various residing options for students, friendly and considerate local residents of Nigde, very low level of crime occurence, dependebale and safe social environment make Nigde city and Nigde University a very attractive and strong choice for university students.
