Nigde University Elderly Care Programme started admitting students in 2012-2013 academic years. It is a two-year program consisting of four semesters with 30 ECTS Credits. An ECTS refers to 30-hour workload of a student each semester. The academic staff of the department consists of 1 assistant professor and 2 lecturer .

In the first year of Elderly Care Programme, the students take courses such as Principles and Practices of Elderly Care, Medical Terminology, Anatomy-Physiology, Psychology, Basic Gerontology, and ElderLy Nutrition.

In the second year, the students take courses such as Acute and Chronic Diseases Information, Exercise Physiology and Elderly Gymnastics, Home Care Services, First Aid and Wound Care. The graduates, having satisfactorily completed the programme and also the 30-working-day internship are entitled awarded with associate diploma in the field of Elderly Care.
