To understand the basic conception of agroecology and ecosystems. To gain the information about ecosystem productivity and the differences between natural and agroecosytems. To understand the basic structure of crop production and environmental factors affecting the crop production.

Definition of ecology and agricultural ecology, their components, principles and productivity of natural ecosystems, differences between natural and agro-ecosystem, agricultural production systems, environmental factors (light, temperature, gravity, carbon dioxide, water, salinity, acidity and nutrient) affecting plant production.
