Nigde University, Department of Materials and Material Processing has startred admitting  student in 2009-2010 academic year. Nigde University, the Furniture and Decoration Programme  startred admitting  student in 2009-2010 academic year. The Furniture and Decoration Associate's Degree Programme is a two-year program consisting of 30 ECTS credits for four semesters. An ECTS refers to student’s workload of 30 hours each semester. The academic staff consists of 4 lecturers.

In the program, the first year of undergraduate students take program courses as Technical Drawing, Furniture Manufacturing: Basic Operations, Solid Wood Furniture, Ergonomics, Technical Drawing, Wood Board Production, Panel Furniture Manufacturing, and Engineered Wood Production. As well as, they take compulsory courses such as English, Turkish Language and Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution.

In the second year, students take elective courses according to their areas of interest such as Computer Aided Manufacturing, Interior Design, Wood Finishing Techniques, Interior Design Project, At the end of the second year courses, students graduate from the program as a Technician of Furniture and Decoration.
