Canvas LMS (ÖYS) and Server Infrastructure Upgraded to the Latest Version at the Distance Education Application and Research Center

The Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEM) of our university has carried out a comprehensive upgrade of the Canvas application and its associated server infrastructure used within the Learning Management System (ÖYS). With this work, significant improvements have been implemented on both the software and hardware sides, greatly enhancing system performance, security, and user experience.

As part of the update, Canvas LMS has been upgraded to its latest version, and the servers used by the center have been updated to new versions that offer higher processing capacity and scalability. As a result, noticeable improvements have been achieved in content uploading, exam security, and user access speed.

This update is of critical importance for the instructors and students of the center. Information security necessitates a more robust and up-to-date infrastructure. With the new version of Canvas, a more stable, faster, and more secure learning environment is being provided. Additionally, by making the server infrastructure scalable, uninterrupted service during potential peak periods has been guaranteed.

The update process was completed according to the planned schedule, and the system has been reopened for access. The UZEM technical team will continue to work on integrating additional modules and strengthening security in the upcoming period based on user feedback.

The new LMS infrastructure is expected to make a significant contribution to ensuring that distance education activities are carried out in a more effective, sustainable, and user-friendly manner.
