At the begginng of the first discovers for human being since they were settle down it shows us organizing and living places with systems in regulation behaviours comes from their human nature. In this context, looking for answers living “where”, “how” and “with whom” questions for increasing world population problems are City and Regional Planner’s responsibilities. From the second half of the 20th century, our department’s importance accepted by the society and will remain important as long as human life on earth.
The department of City and Regional Planning aims forming cities from the large scale to detailed smaller scale. While during this its general purpose is; educating new generations with ability to take decisions balancing society-nature-economy relations and creating the livable cities both national and international level.
The Graduates of the City and Regional Planning Program can work in both public and private sectors in urban or rural settlements as Urban Planners. Urban Planners of public entities take a wide range of roles from the highest level in the hierarchy to the smallest municipalities. Urban planners can work on large-scale decision-making like determining the growth policies and strategies, directing community development and, also, on some smaller-scale issues like planning metropolitan areas or developing small rural centers. Planners in private sector can work at planning firms as well as in real estate development agencies, banks, industrial entities, mass housing entities, investment companies.
