Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Arts and Sciences was established with the Law No. 3837 published in the Official Gazette dated 11/07/1992 and numbered 21281, and started education in the period 1993-1994.

Within the body of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Science and Letters; There are departments of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Turkish Language and Literature, Sociology, Western Languages ​​and Literatures, Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures, History of Art, Statistics, Geography, Biotechnology and Archeology. In addition to a four-year undergraduate education in our faculty, a total of seven graduate education in five departments of the Institute of Science (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology) and three departments under the Institute of Social Sciences (History, Turkish Language and Literature and Sociology) it is made. In addition, doctorate education is provided in five departments (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Biotechnology) affiliated to the Institute of Science, in two departments (History, Turkish Language and Literature) under the Institute of Social Sciences.

As of 28.11.2016, the total number of undergraduate students in the departments of our faculty is 2525, 1807 of which are regular education students and 718 are evening education students. Education in our faculty; It starts in October and February and lasts 14 weeks in the Fall and Spring Semesters, the Master's program is 4 semesters and the doctorate program is 10 semesters.

Necessary computer support for research is provided by the University Information Processing Center on the campus and microcomputers in the departments.

Our faculty consists of 3 blocks; It consists of administrative and lecturer rooms in Block A, classroom, lecturers and student canteen in the Annex Building, classroom, laboratory and teaching staff rooms in Block C. The Faculty has a closed area of ​​35.000 m2. 1 lecture hall, 1 conference hall, 11 Physics Labs. 14 Research 3 students Chemistry Labs, 12 Biology Labs, 6 Biotechnology Labs, 1 Geography Lab., 1 Computer Lab. and there is a canteen. While the current knowledge, research, analysis, interpretation and presentation skills of our faculty are developed, they are encouraged to participate in club activities, social and artistic activities such as music, sports, theater and provide opportunities to improve their personal and social skills.
