General Infromation
Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Mechatronics Engineering Department started education first time by taking undergraduate students in the 2012-2013 academic year.

There are 1 Assoc. Prof., 1 Asst. Professor, 1 Lecturer and 2 Research Assistants in our department.

Our department consists of 2 divisions as Machine and Design, Control and Automation.
Graduates who successfully complete the program receive a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering.

In order for the students to be admitted to the program, they must have a high school diploma and an equivalent school diploma and have got enough points from the exam administered by ÖSYM.

Students studying at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University may be exempted from some courses according to the regulations of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination. In order for the students to be exempted from the courses, they must apply to be exempted from the courses within the specified time and get approval from the relevant college / faculty / institute management boards.

In order for candidates to graduate, they must successfully complete the courses available in the Program (240 ECTS in total) and achieve a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Students who graduate from the program can continue to graduate education and training if they meet the necessary conditions according to the regulations of Postgraduate Education.

Exams held at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University are conducted in accordance with the regulations of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Exam in accordance with student workload in Bologna process.


Aims and Goals
Aims:

The main objectives of our department are to become a leader in academic ratings among national and international Mechatronics Engineering departments and to make academic research and publications to develop future-oriented technologies. It is to train Mechatronics Engineers who are equipped with the necessary scientific and social skills, can follow the next level of education, have critical thinking and leadership skills in the environments they will work in, can provide interdisciplinary cooperation, have innovative and original solutions.

Goals:

By transferring basic engineering knowledge with modern training methods, it is to train Mechatronics engineers who are capable of fulfilling their profession in the national and international arena, and capable of meeting the needs of the industry. To provide our students with the opportunity to actively work in the fields of machinery, electronics and control in the industry during their education.



Turkey Level Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TTYÇ) and Degrees 
Students who have successfully completed the program will be awarded the MECHATRONIC ENGINEERING UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE.

MECHATRONIC ENGINEERING undergraduate program is a 4-year program consisting of 240 ECTS credits. The program, Bologna process "in higher education EQF Top Frame (QF-EHEA)" 's described in the "First Level (First Cycle)" and "Turkey Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ)" in shareholders' defined "Level 6" set for qualifications ECTS credit requirements and level qualifications; it also provides the "Level 6" qualifications defined in the "European Lifelong Learning Qualifications Framework (EQF-LLL)".


Admission RequirementsAdmission Requirements 
Turkish students are admitted to the Department of MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING according to the results of Higher Education Entrance (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Exam (LYS) conducted by the Student Selection & Placement Center (ÖSYM). Those who succeed in the LYS (Graduate Placement Exam) organized by ÖSYM are placed according to their MF-4 score type preferences.

Recognition of Previous Learning 
Based on the principle of lifelong learning, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University recognizes the courses taken in another institution and exempts from the graduation loan if the learning outcomes of these courses are compatible with those of the program registered at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. Compliance of learning outcomes and exemption issues are decided by the Faculty Board in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

Academic Advancement Opportunities 
Students who successfully complete this program can apply to undergraduate and, in some cases, doctorate programs in the department of MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING or related fields. According to the National Regulations of Postgraduate Education, students are admitted to graduate programs based on their success levels in undergraduate programs and their scores in the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). In this context, national regulations and regulations determined by the senate of each university will determine the weight of ALES results in the overall evaluation of candidates. Depending on the regulations of the institutions, a certain level of proficiency in a foreign language is also required to be accepted into some of the applied departments.

Exams 
The success of students in achieving the envisaged learning outcomes of each course unit in the MECHATRONIC ENGINEERING program curriculum is measured by the activities in the semester and the final exams held at the end of each semester.

Evaluation of the semester activities includes at least a minimum number of midterm exams, one homework and a quiz as compulsory assessment methods for all courses in undergraduate programs determined by the regulation.

Programs are encouraged to define more assessment methods in term activities, depending on the need to measure the achievement of outcomes at program and course level in order to achieve educational goals and objectives. The quality and number of assessment methods used for each course, together with their contribution to the final grade, are given under the heading "Measurement and Evaluation" in the course descriptions sections. These regulations are announced in advance at the beginning of each semester and the course descriptions sections are published on the website.

Midterm and final exams are held on the dates, places and times determined and announced by the university. The final grades of the students are given by the lecturers based on the results of midterm, homework evaluation, quizzes, final exam and any other evaluation, taking into account the attendance requirement of the students.

In determining the final grade, the contribution of the semester activities can be at least 40% and maximum 60%, and the contribution of the final exam is at least 40% and maximum 60% for all courses in all undergraduate programs specified by regulation.

Courses that do not require a midterm, homework, quiz and / or final exam are determined by the management of the relevant departments and the specific assessment and grading methods for these courses are announced through the channels described above. or Failed.



Evaluation 
The success of a student is evaluated by the instructor for each assessment (in-term studies and final) defined for each course. The evaluation is made over 100 full points and at the end of the term, taking into account the standard deviation and the grade average of the class, the principles are converted into letter grade using the relative evaluation method determined by the Senate. .
