TURNITIN ( PLAGIARISM ANALYSIS PROGRAM )

Turnitin program is within the scope of EKUAL. It is used to detect plagiarism in student assignments, reports and theses.

Authorized Users:

Academicians working at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University (Research Assistants, Lecturers, Dr. Lecturer, Associate Professor, Prof. Dr.) can use it.

To create an account, you must send your name, surname, corporate e-mail address and phone number to kudokdb@ohu.edu.tr.

The Turnitin program should be used in plagiarism analysis of student assignments and theses. iThenticate should be used for article analysis.

IMPORTANT WARNING:

ATTENTION TO OUR TEACHERS WHO HAVE OPENED A TEACHER ACCOUNT

• First, a class is created by selecting the Add Class option. Then you need to add homework.

• Add assignment option is selected. Click on Warehouse Options and select the NO WAREHOUSE option. In cases where the no repository option is not selected, the document goes to the repository and produces a high similarity rate on the next upload. Click the OPTIONAL SETTINGS option and select the Create now option in the Create Originality Reports of Student Submissions section. (It is possible to make changes to the reports until the delivery date.) DO NOT SELECT "THE FIRST REPORT WILL BE THE FINAL REPORT". Other settings are up to you.

• Before you can upload assignments, you must first register your students. After logging in to the class, students are selected from the tabs. Click on the Add student option and the student's information is added. If you are making an upload under your own name, please add your own information and save it. After making these settings, you can proceed to the uploading stage of your assignment and upload it successfully. • Users should not delete the documents they have uploaded to their own accounts and sent to the pool from their accounts without notifying the institution's Turnitin administrator. Don't forget to save the assignment number before deleting it.

• If you want to delete a document you have uploaded to your account, be sure to delete it by selecting the Request Permanent Deletion option. If your document has not been sent to the warehouse, the system will give you a warning. If it has gone to the repository, your Turnitin administrator will be notified.

WARNING:

Since uploads made by selecting the "Quick Submit" option in the teacher interface are automatically sent to the warehouse, it is important not to use this option. Since the uploads made through this option will be sent to the warehouse

Dear Academicians;

  • Our library has subscribed to Turnitin database, which provides plagiarism detection service. 
  • Turnitin is a web-based software that provides plagiarism detection services. The Turnitin program, which is used to control student Thesis, Homework and Projects, and to prevent plagiarism and illegal quotations, has been put into use. Program; It calculates the similarity percentages by comparing homework and similar studies with the internet, databases and documents previously uploaded to the program. 
  • To get the system started:
  •  Firstly; It is necessary to create an account in the system for our faculty members. 
  • Academic staff that can create an account:
  • Assist.Doç.Dr., Assoc.Prof., Prof.Dr. Faculty Members, Research Assistants, Lecturers, and Academicians who do not hold master's or doctorate degrees and take courses can also create an account) 
  • This process will be carried out by the library administration and the name, surname, e-mail information must be submitted to the address "kutdokdb@ohu.edu.tr". 
  • Faculty members will be able to log into the system with the passwords in the activation e-mail that will be sent to their e-mail accounts. 

iThenticate ( Plagiarism Analysis Program for ARTICLES )

Scope
: It is used to determine the rate of cheating (plagiarism) in articles to be produced at academic level.

Authorized Users and Special Conditions:

Faculty members with a doctorate degree and higher academic competence at universities and researchers working in other EKUAL member institutions are given the right to use their personal articles in accordance with the annual submit quota.iThenticate should not be used for plagiarism detection of student assignments, reports and theses (Turnitin for these types of documents The analysis of the articles submitted to journals published by EKUAL member institution can be done by the editors in the status of Authorized User.

Dear Academicians:


  • In order to detect plagiarism in academic studies, the iThenticate-Plagiarism Prevention Program has been made available to our university by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM. The program has a comprehensive academic content directly related to the evaluation of academic publications (excluding student assignments). It is used with a web-based interface without the need for special training. The document to be analyzed for plagiarism is easily uploaded by the user to the iThenticate program as if it is attached to an e-mail, plagiarism analysis can be completed in a few minutes.
  • The academic title of the iThenticate program is Dr., Assist., Assoc., Prof. will be able to use instructors who are available.
  • Academicians who want to use the program are required to submit their title, department, name, surname, internal phone and e-mail addresses to the address "kutdokdb@ohu.edu.tr" in order to define their access.
  • Regarding the access definitions, the person assigned to the Library and Documentation Department will make the access definitions of the academic staff who want to access the iThenticate program within our university. Password and user name will be sent to the e-mail address notified by the academic staff defined in the system.
  • When this "username" and "password" is entered into the "login" field at http://www.ithenticate.com/, the system will be logged in.
