Strenghts
The presence of young and dynamic academic staff
The communication among academic staff, administrative staff and students is good and students can have negotiation whenever they want.
The presence of Erasmus and Farabi programs at our university, and exchanging of student and academic staff is possible.
Application areas and cooperation is good.
The department is preferable.
Graduates can find jobs easily.
Congress, courses, etc… which develop vocational knowledge and skills, courses, are supported.
The university's internet infrastructure is sufficient and it is easy to reach updated information
To have a corporate identity.
There is collaboration with Nursing Department.
The presence of respectful and harmonious working environment
The presence of the capacity to collaborate with foreign universities.

Weaknesses
The lack of faculty members in department.
There are a few teaching staff members.
The absence of graduate programs
There are a few students and teaching staff members going abroad.
The fact that the department is located far from the center of campus
Lack of clinical and field applications
Lack of communication with alumni at a desired level
Lack of areas where students can make social and culturel activities and do sports.

Opportunities
The ease of transportation because the school building is located in downtown.
The fact that it is one of the seven occupations which can work in the European Union countries
The fact that equipped midwives are always needed in our country

Threats
Low-level-success students prefer the department.
Lack of trained faculty members in the field of obstetrics
Students from foreign countries don’t come to the department via Erasmus and Farabi Exchange programs.
Due to the disorganization of the application areas the students can not be observed continuously during applications.
Clinical practice and field practice areas are shared with other organizations offering health education.
The weak financial situation of the majority of students
Legal regulations regarding midwifery haven’t been done yet.
