Success Grade:

The scores obtained from the exams are evaluated over 100 and the success score is determined. Success in a course is determined by a success grade. The success grade is determined by evaluating the semester success grade obtained in the studies carried out during the semester for that course and the grade obtained in the final exams at the end of the semester. Studies carried out during the semester; Attendance in lessons and practices, field studies, application, homework, project, internship, workshop, seminar, laboratory and similar studies. These studies can be evaluated together with the midterm exam at a certain rate in the last week of the semester determined in the academic calendar, in determining the student's semester success grade. The effect of the general exam on the course success grade can be minimum 40% and maximum 60%. The effect rates of the midterm grade and the final exam on the success grade and the way the student is considered successful is announced to the students within the first two weeks of the semester by the instructor in charge of the course.

Relative evaluation system is used in calculating the success grade. In relative evaluation, the arithmetic average and statistical distribution of the course success scores of all students taking that course are taken into account. The application principles of the relative evaluation system are determined by the Senate.

From the Success Notes;

a) Q: Successful in non-credit courses,

b) U: Unsuccessful in non-credit courses,

c) P: Successful in annual courses at the end of the first semester,

d) EX: Successful in the exemption exam administered by the university,

e) NI: Grade of courses not included in the weighted average,

f) NA: Unsuccessful due to not fulfilling the attendance and / or application requirements, and not having the right to take general exams,

g) T: It is defined as the grade of the transferred course.

A student who gets AA, BA, BB, CB, CC, S and EX grades from a course is considered successful in that course. A student who gets a DC or DD grade from one or more courses is considered to have succeeded in that course (s) if the academic average of all the courses he enrolled in by writing on the course registration form in the semester in which the course was taken, is 2.00 and above.

T grade; It is given to students who transfer from other departments of the university or from another university for the courses they have taken before and the equivalence of which is accepted by the faculty / school board upon the recommendation of the department chair. Academic grade point average is not included in the calculations.

Academic Average

Students' success status; semester academic average and general academic averages are calculated. The multiplication of the coefficient of the credit of a course and the success grade obtained from that course gives the weighted score of that course.

The academic average of the semester is calculated by dividing the total of the weighted points of the courses that must be taken in that semester by the total credits of the courses. Annual courses are included in the spring term academic average.

The general academic average is calculated by dividing the sum of the weighted points to be calculated based on the grades taken from all the courses the student has to take during the education period, by the total credits of the courses taken.

When calculating the academic average, two digits are taken after the comma. When the number in the third digit after the comma is 5 or greater, the number in the second digit is increased by one.

Although minor and double major courses are included in the education plan, courses with S and T grades are not taken into account in the calculation of academic average. If there are courses that the student repeats, the last grade he / she received from those courses is included in the academic average.

Students, if they wish, can repeat the courses in which they took DD, DC and CC grades to increase their academic averages. The latest grade they get from these courses is included in the academic average.
