Our programme, which continues its education under the name of 'Civil Air Transport Management' under the Department of Transportation Services, aims to train intermediate staff who will work in the field of business and management of civil air transport. The civil air transport operator prepares management plans for the most efficient use of money, technology, materials and manpower and for the profitable operation of aircraft, supervises the work, takes measures to ensure that aircraft are operated at full capacity in terms of load and passenger quantities. He/she makes the connection and organisation of cargo and passenger movements related to the aircraft of the company he/she works for. Graduates can work in airports and airline companies.
The duration of education in the Civil Air Transport Management Programme is 2 years. In the programme, courses such as flight theory, ramp safety, passenger services as well as courses in the field of business administration are also taught.
Students who graduate from the programme, if they are successful in the DGS (Vertical Transfer Examination), are entitled to enroll in a bachelor's programme suitable for their preferred programmes. After the adjustment and four semesters of undergraduate completion education in these programmes, they are entitled to receive a bachelor's degree.
Nigde Omer Halisdemir University Transportation Services started to accept associate degree students in 2014-2015 under the name of Civil Air Transport Management Programme. There are 4 lecturers in our department. Every year, 60 students are admitted to first and 60 students are admitted to second education with TYT score. As of the 2023-2024 academic year, there are a total of 378 students enrolled in our department, 182 in 1st education and 196 in 2nd education. Students who complete the 40-day internship training with compulsory and elective courses receive the title of Civil Air Transport Operator.
In order for candidates to graduate, they must successfully complete the courses available in the programme (120 ECTS in total) and obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. The exams held at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University are carried out in accordance with the student workload in the Bologna process according to the Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. Scientific studies are carried out intensively in our department.
