The Accounting and Tax Practices program was first established in 1980 as an accounting program affiliated to Selçuk University in 1980, and in 1992 Niğde University Vocational School of Vocational High School in 1992, and since 2010, it has been continuing its activities under the roof of Niğde Vocational School of Social Sciences. Since 2009-2010 academic year, it has been named Accounting and Tax Practices program. 

The aim of the Accounting and Tax Applications program is to ensure the execution of the works of determining and interpreting the results arising from them by recording the transactions that occur in enterprises and can be expressed in money. For this purpose; They take courses such as Accounting, Business Correspondence, Human Resources Management, Financial Economic Planning and Control, Accounting Techniques and Rules. Our students gain professional competence in accounting by gaining the ability to apply the accounting they have learned classically on the computer with the ready-made accounting package programs with the Use of Office Programs and Computerized Accounting courses, taking into account the importance of computer use in accounting with the transition to uniform accounting. At the end of the second semester, our students do their compulsory internship in the sector for 40 working days. 

Accounting Tax Applications Program, I and II. There is education as education. The courses given are carried out by 4 teaching staff. In addition, lectures are given by other lecturers within our school and lecturers assigned from the units affiliated to our Rectorate.

Accounting Tax Applications Program takes about 80 students every year. Along with compulsory and elective courses, students who complete the internship training receive the title of accounting professional staff.

Those who successfully complete the department are awarded an associate degree diploma. In order for students to graduate, they must successfully complete the courses available in the program (a total of at least 120 ECTS) and achieve a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. The exams held at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University are held in accordance with the student workload in the Bologna process according to the Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.

Our graduates are entitled to receive an associate degree diploma as Vocational Staff. Our students can find job opportunities in the accounting departments of enterprises and accounting services of public institutions and organizations. In addition, after completing their undergraduate education, they can open accounting offices in their name as a result of the qualification exam to be held if they complete their three-year internship in accordance with the Law No. 3568 on Certified Public Accountants and Certified Public Accountants. 
Turkish students are accepted to the Banking and Insurance Program according to the results of the Higher Education Entrance Examination (YGS) conducted by the Student Selection & Placement Center (ÖSYM). Those who are successful in the Higher Education Entrance Examination (YGS) organized by ÖSYM are placed according to the preference ranking in the YGS-6 score type.
