It is a program which gives a two-year-education, in order to enable students to develop, so as to be suitably qualified as intermediate staff in both production and post-selling stages of the automotive sector since 1980. The graduate students are qualified at a level between administrator/engineer and workers in the production and post-selling stages; or they have the skills to set up their own business. The education each automotive technician has gained will equip him with a high level of manual dexterity and give him knowledge of advanced technology and current developments in information technologies. In order to be accepted to the program, the students should have a diploma of a high school or equivalent school, and should have scored sufficient points from the examinations of ÖSYM in the corresponding field.
Nigde Omer Halisdemir University may exempt students from some courses on the basis of Nigde University Associate Degree and Bachelor's Degree Education and Examination Regulations if they formally prove that they have taken those courses previously. Students are to apply and obtain approval from the board of school within the time period set to be exempted from the courses.
In order to be able to graduate, the candidates should complete the courses in the Program (120 ECTS in total) and have a grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00.
The graduates having satisfactorily completed the program are awarded an associate diploma in the field of Automotive Technologies.Students who graduate from this program can continue their education in the graduate program with DGS exam conducted by OSYM.
Examinations at the Nigde Omer Halisdemir University are carried out in accordance with Nigde University undergraduate and graduate Education and Examination Regulations taking the Bologna process and the student workload into consideration.

The objective of this 2-year associate degree program is to train intermediate staff in the field of Automotive Technologies needed not only in production but also after-sales service.
Objectives
The goal of the program is to train associate degree graduates who are equipped with the knowledge and skills required by the latest technological developments, who know the material and equipment, and also the production processes in the field, are able to make use of the drawings and blueprints, have the knowledge and skills to solve occupational problems, and are able to use modern technological devices.
Level of Qualification and Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of this program, students are awarded with the qualification of ASSOCIATE DEGREE in AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGIES.
SHORT CYCLE AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME is a 2-year program with 120 ECTS Credits. The program meets the requirements by both the ECTS credits and level descriptors of the short cycle degree qualifications of the Overarching Framework of European Qualifications Framework HE(QF-EHEA) and the 5th level qualifications of the Turkish Qualifications Framework for HE (TYYÇ, NQF-HETR). The level descriptors also meet the 5th level requirements of the qualifications of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL).
Specific Admission Requirements
The associate's degree program in Automotive Technologies admits Turkish students with the result of YGS 1 of the YGS exam conducted by OSYM among the graduates of general high school and vocational-technical high school as well as without an exam result for those who are graduates of departments specified of Vocational and Technical Secondary Education Institutions.
Foreign students, on the other hand, are accepted to the program as a result of the evaluation of their applications by the board of Nigde Omer Halisdemir Unıversity.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning
On the basis of the principle of lifelong learning, Nigde Omer Halisdemir University recognizes the learning outcomes of the previously taken courses from another institution, and if they are compatible with Nigde University graduation credits, students are exempted from these courses. Compliance and exemption issues of learning outcomes are determined by the School Board in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations.
Profile of the Program
This 2 year associate degree program trains intermediate staff in the field of Automotive Technologies, needed not only in production but also in after-sale service.
Education period of the program is four semesters (including training time). At the end of the fourth semester the students do 40 working-days internship. Automotive Technology Associate Degree Programme, (Bologna Process Framework for Higher Education Qualifications, Level 5 (TÇYY9), is a vocational program. Training in the Automotive Technology Associate degree Program is conducted professionally with the support of scientific, technological, and regular laboratory and workshop applications. Automotive Technology Program courses include theoretical knowledge, experimental knowledge and skills, and the applications of traditional and modern technologies. Examinations
The success of students in achieving the expected leaning outcomes of each course unit within the curriculum of Automotive Technology program is evaluated via assessments of in-term activities and final examination which is administered at the end of each semester.
Assessment of in-term activities includes a minimum number of a mid-term examination, homework and a short-exam (quiz) as compulsory assessment methods for all the course units within all degree programs defined by the associate degree program regulations.
The programs are encouraged to include more assessment methods for the in-term activities depending on their needs for measuring the achievements of the outcomes at the program and course unit levels in order to ensure the educational aims and objectives. The nature and number of the assessment methods used for each course unit together with their contribution the final grades are given under the title of “Assessment and Grading” in the sections of course descriptions. These arrangements are announced in advance, at the beginning of each semester and published in the sections of the course descriptions on this web site.
Mid-term and final examinations are conducted in dates, places and times determined and announced by the University. The students’ final semester grade is given by their instructors based on mid-term examination, homework evaluation, short-examinations, final examination and, if there are any, other assessment results taking into account the students’ compliance with attendance to the course activities.
The contributions of the grades of the in-term activities and final exam grade to the final success grade of a course are determined by the course instructor and announced to students within the first two weeks of the semester. Moreover, the contribution of the final exam cannot be less than 40 % and higher than 60% for all the courses within all the degree programmes defined by the Regulations.
Course units, which do not require a mid-term, homework, short-exam and/or a final exam, such as work placement, are determined by the administration of the related departments and specific assessment and grading methods for these courses are also announced through the same channels described above. Evaluation of such activities is made through the procedures defined by the Senate and assessed by Pass (P) or Fail (F) grades.
Grading
The success of a student for each assessment (in-term and final) defined for each course unit is evaluated by the instructor. Evaluations are made over a scale of 100 points and converted to the letter grades at the end of the semester taking into account the standard deviation of grades and grade point average of the class and using the relative evaluation method, principles of which have been set by the Senate.
