General Information
Accounting department, together with the establishment of vocational schools of education in 1994, has started. There are 3 secondary education lecturer at the department serves. Upon successful completion of the associate degree program of compulsory and elective courses, students are awarded by the title element of the accounting profession. Students wishing to also be successful if they are successful in OSYM made by the vertical transition can transfer to degree programs related to the fields. Accounting departments of companies in Chapter alumni, banking and finance industry, financial consulting firms on assignment. CPA can take the title at the end of a 4-year internship.
The graduates having satisfactorily completed the programme are awarded associate diploma in the field of Accounting and Tax Applications.
In order to be accepted to the programme, the students should have a diploma of a high school or equivalent schools and should have got sufficient points from the examinations of ÖSYM in the corresponding field.
The students studying at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University may be exempt from some courses as per the Regulation on Education and Examination System of Associate and Bachelor’s Degree at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. In order to be exempt from the courses, the students should apply for exemption within the specified period and obtain approvals from the executive boards of related schools/faculties/graduate schools.
In order to be able to graduate, the candidates should complete the courses in the Programme (120 ECTS in total) and have a grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00.
The students having graduated from the programme may continue their education at Bachelor's programmes through taking DGS (Vertical Transfer Examination) of ÖSYM.
The exams of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University are carried out in accordance with the workload of the students during Bologna Process as per Regulation on Education and Examination System of Associate and Bachelor’s Degree at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University.
Aims and Objectives
Aims :
Accounting and Tax Practices program, which serves the basic purpose of accounting and tax accounting or consulting agencies, public or private sector institutions to meet the needs of accounting and finance departments, capable of analytical thinking, problem-solving, entrepreneurial train accounting staff.
Objectives :
The main objectives our program are to meet the needs of our country in this section and become the most preferred program among other programs. To educate new member of professions equipped with the necessary scientific and social, a top level training track, work environments, critical thinking and leadership skills, interdisciplinary collaboration can provide, can produce original solutions, innovative features.
Level of Qualification and Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of this program, students are awarded with the qualification of Accountings and Tax Application
An Associate Degree Program in Accountings and Tax Application is a 120 ECTS Credits, 2-year program. The program meets the requirements by both the ECTS credits and level descriptors of the first cycle degree qualifications of the Overarching Framework of European Qualifications Framework HE(QF-EHEA) and the 5th level qualifications of the Turkish Qualifications Framework for HE (TYYÇ, NQF-HETR). The level descriptors also meet the 5th level requirements of the qualifications of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL) .
Specific Admission Requirements
Admission of national students to the Accounting and Tax Applications Program is contingent on success on the nationally centralized Student Selection Examination (YGS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM). Candidates who succeed on the YGS examination are enrolled according to their type YGS5 score preferences.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning
With an understanding of lifelong learning, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University recognizes the previously taken courses in another institution and exempt them from graduation credit, as long as the courses match with the learning outcomes of the registered programme at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. The learning outcome match and the exemption are decided by the Faculty Board in line with the related laws and regulations.
Profile of the Programme
Entire accounting system is, especially to choose the profession of accountancy students, requires individuals equipped with computerized accounting and tax issues. Business computerized accounting and tax issues knows, the best use of staff require. It features elements of his upbringing takes a long time. Accounting and tax practices of the students in the program, two years during their education and become informed about current developments in the field of accounting accounting programs are won sovereignty. Associate degree of ACCOUNTING AND TAX APPLICATIONS (First Cycle in QF-EHEA and 5th level in TYYÇ ) is an academically-oriented program giving access to degree and non-degree research program and professional practice demanding high levels of knowledge and skills. Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
Students who graduates from Accounting and Tax Applications program, according to their preferences and abilities, can work in accounting firms, financial institutions, in various levels of financial firms with any commercial businesses. In addition, after completing undergraduate training later according to 3568 numbered Certified Public Accountant, Certified Public Accountant Financial Consultant based on certified public accountant law if completed as a result of the three-year internships in accounting and the proficiency exam graduates may establish their own accounting offices.

Candidates who accomplished the program can be enrolled in undergraduate departments that are related to ACCOUNTING AND TAX APPLICATIONS with applying Graduate Transfer Exam (GTE) done by Student Selection and Placement Center (SSPC).

Examinations:
The success of students in achieving the expected leaning outcomes of the each course unit within the curriculum of ACCOUNTING AND TAX APPLICATIONS programme is evaluated via assessments of in-term activities and final examination which takes place at the end of each semester.
Assessment of in-term activities includes a minimum number of a mid-term examination, a homework and a short-exam (quiz) as compulsory assessment methods for all the course units within all degree programmes defined by the Regulations. The programmes are encouraged to define more assessment methods for the in-term activities depending on their needs for measuring the achievements of the outcomes at the programme and course unit levels in order to ensure the educational aims and objectives. The nature and number of the assessment methods used for each course unit together with their contribution the final grades are given under the title of “Assessment and Grading” in the sections of course descriptions. These arrangements are announced in advance, at the beginning of each semester and published in the sections of the course descriptions on this web site.
Mid-term and final examinations are conducted in dates, places and times determined and announced by the University. The students’ final semester grade is given by their instructors based on mid-term examination, homework evaluation, short-examinations, final examination and, if there is any, other assessment results taking into account the students’ compliance with attendance to the course activities.
The contribution of assessment grades of the in-term activities to the final grade could be at most 40% and that of the final exam cannot be less than 40 % and higher than 60% for all for all the course units within all degree programmes defined by the Regulations.
Course units, which do not require a mid-term, homework, short-exam and/or a final exam, such as work placement, are determined by the administration of the related departments and specific assessment and grading methods for these courses are also announced through the same channels described above. Evaluation of such activities is made through the procedures defined by the Senate and assessed by Pass (P) or Fail (F) grades.
Grading:
The success of a student for each assessment (in-term and final) defined for each course unit is evaluated by the instructor. Evaluations are made over a scale of 100 points and converted to the letter grades at the end of the semester taking into account the standard deviation of grades and grade point average of the class and using the relative evaluation method, principles of which have been set by the Senate.
