Program Outcomes
PO1: Understands the basics of the subjects in the field of physics and other fields of mathematics and science related to these subjects, and gains the ability to use the theoretical and applied knowledge gained in solving problems in the field of rail systems.
PO2: Recognize the materials of the parts used in trains. Have knowledge of the basic operating principles and functions of all kinds of components and systems used in trains (mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.). It detects, defines and reports all types of mechanical and electronic problems that may occur.
PO3: Knows the minimum qualifications of all kinds of rolling and pulling vehicles used by national and international railway train operators in terms of type, capacity and similar, and the procedures and principles regarding their periodic technical inspections. Uses technological tools (measurement, control instruments and test devices) for train maintenance, repair and testing.
PO4: Compares rail systems with other transportation systems. It defines traffic systems in rail systems and manages rail system vehicle traffic, train formation, and train traffic control.
PO5: Knows the duties, powers and responsibilities of all units and personnel affiliated to railway directorates. Explains the basic and institutional information in the field of national and international management in railways.
PO6: Knows the rail properties and the effect of the change in the rails on the train. Have knowledge about railway infrastructure and superstructure. Explains road maintenance and repair methods.
PO7: Prones to team work and have the knowledge and skills to carry out activities within the area of responsibility. Have knowledge and awareness of occupational safety, worker health and environmental protection on issues related to the field.
PO8: Gains competence in original thinking. They can analyze the career concept, career planning and stages, and develop a career plan suitable for themselves.
PO9: Recognizes the types of engines used in trains (Internal combustion engines, electric motors, traction motors) and knows their working principles.
PO10: Have general computer usage knowledge and know Word, Excel, Powerpoint programs at a sufficient level. Along with basic computer usage knowledge, the student will have the ability to use the software and hardware required by his/her profession. Knows how to use 2D and 3D computer programs related to the profession at a sufficient level.
PÇ11: Have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in Turkish and have knowledge of at least one foreign language.
PO12: Have sufficient awareness about the universality of social rights, social justice, quality culture, professional ethics, cultural values and environmental protection.
