Landscape architecture as a department is firstly aiming to train landscape architects that are competent in protecting, planning, and managing the natural and cultural landscapes; planning, designing, and maintaining the open green spaces to improve people’s quality of life; sensitive to environment, respecting to social and ethical values. To solve local, regional, and territorial problems of landscape with research activities alternatively; to contribute development of science and technology are our main targets.

Why Landscape Architecture?
Landscape architecture is a very important discipline of profession improving the quality of urban life and constituting nature-friendly designs. Landscape architects select places of parks, gardens, touristic and recreational areas, university campuses, residential areas, commercial centers and public buildings; produce land use decisions in both local and regional scale. At the same time, the landscape architects are planning for repairing of wetlands, stream corridors, mines, areas of solid waste storage, and areas like forests destroyed by people. It is executed the conservation projects of historical areas and cultural resources in national, regional, and local context. That landscape architects working with the architects, city planners, civil engineers, and the other professions are producing plan and application projects within the framework of respecting to both people’s needs and environmental values have an important role in environmental design and protection.
