1. To acquire basic knowledge of mathematics, science, earth sciences and sufficient knowledge of engineering subjects; and to acquire ability to use this knowledge to solve problems of engineering
2. To obtain the ability to determine, identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems and with this purpose in mind, to be able to choose proper methods of analysis and modeling
3. To acquire ability to design and use modern tools and products which are developed for earth sciences and engineering practices in a way that meets certain needs
4. To acquire awareness about effects of practices of earth sciences and engineering on health, environment and safety both socially and universally, and about judiciary results of contemporary problems and engineering solutions
5. The ability to design and carry out experiments, collect data, analyze results and interpret them in order to investigate problems of earth sciences and engineering
6. To acquire ability to work effectively in teams both in geological engineering and in multidisciplinary work
7. To have ability to communicate effectively in Turkish both orally and in written form, and to have competency in at least one foreign language
8. To have awareness of life long, ability to access information, keep pace with developments in science and technology and to improve himself/herself constantly
9. To acquire consciousness of professional and ethical responsibility
10. To create entrepreneurship about the practices in business life such as project management and risk management and to create awareness about innovativeness and sustainable development.
