Program Outcomes
  1. To acquire basic knowledge of mathematics, science, earth sciences and sufficient knowledge of engineering subjects; and to acquire ability to use this knowledge to solve problems of engineering
  2. To obtain the ability to determine, identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems and with this purpose in mind, to be able to choose proper methods of analysis and modeling
  3. To acquire ability to design and use modern tools and products which are developed for earth sciences and engineering practices in a way that meets certain needs
  4. To acquire awareness about effects of practices of earth sciences and engineering on health, environment and safety both socially and universally, and about judiciary results of contemporary problems and engineering solutions
  5. The ability to design and carry out experiments, collect data, analyze results and interpret them in order to investigate problems of earth sciences and engineering
  6. To acquire ability to work effectively in teams both in geological engineering and in multidisciplinary work

Field-Specific Skills and Competences
1. S/he should have the ability to use the geological tools
2. S/he should be able to draw geological maps and cross-section; S/he should be able to show tectonic and stratigraphic factors on them.
3. S/he should be able to recognize different kinds of minerals, rocks and mines
4. S/he should be able to recognize minerals and rocks by means of microscope by making polished thin section.
5. S/he should be able to decide whether mines are economically valuable or not and S/he should know how to certify minefields
6. S/he should be able to supervise drilling for water, mine and ground; S/he should be able to prepare required license, cross-section and log
7. S/he should be able to recognize mines and elements which can affect environmental health negatively
8. S/he should acquire ability to solve engineering geology and geotechnical problems
9. S/he should be able to develop joint projects by associating themselves with other fields of engineering.
