Programme Evaluation Criteria
- The student has the knowledge of the development and history of English Language and Literature from the beginning to the present.
- The student is able to explain the basic contemporary theories and knowledge about Western literature, literary genres, concepts and terms.
- The student has the basic knowledge and skills to conduct research and study in the field of Western Languages and Literatures.
- The student gains the ability to use English effectively and to express himself/herself.
- The student is able to comprehend the importance of English language, English Literature and English culture among disciplines and apply the acquired knowledge in collaborations.
- The student has general knowledge about English culture, and recognizes cultural elements.
- The student is able to use and transfer English theoretically and practically with contemporary technique.
- The student has critical, creative and analytical thinking skills.
- The student is able to follow and interpret developments in science, technology and contemporary issues in English.
- The student is able to collect information and data individually and/or by team work on issues related to English language, literature and culture by means of using current information technologies, research methods and techniques.
- The student has professional and ethical responsibility.
- The student has a developed sensitivity and aesthetics in the fields of language and literature.
- The student is able to read, understand and analyse national and international publications in English.
- The student is able to follow current environmental problems such as globalization, urbanization, climate change and pollution and to be sensitive to nature and animals.
- The student adopts basic universal values, develops an attitude, He/she is respectful and open to communication and learning towards different religion, language, race, gender and social class groups.
