School of Foreign Languages was established in June/2010. The school consists of Basic English, Translation-Interpretation and Modern Languages departments.

           School of Foreign Languages provides foreign language courses for the students who are enrolled to the departments of Faculties and Schools that require a compulsory preparatory class of foreign language (English), and do not take the foreign language proficiency exam at the beginning of the semester or take and fail to be successful in the exam. The school also provides foreign language education for common compulsory courses of Faculties and Schools. Preparatory foreign language education carried out by the Department of Basic English is provided as 24 (twenty four) hours per week at classes of 24 students through mainly utilizing from technological facilities.

Computer Assisted Language Learning (Call) Lab

Computer Assisted Language Learning (Call) Labs are used for continuing some part of the lessons of Preparation Program in a multimedia environment. The computers are equipped with the proper software and the assistive programs and documents. With the help of Computer Assisted Language Learning (Call) Labs, the students benefit from the opportunity of learning the foreign language in the most natural conditions. The programs used in Computer Assisted Language Learning (Call) Labs are completely interactive and each one of the students can save their studies into their own memory cards.

Classroom

Classrooms, used for the Compulsory or Optional Foreign Language Education, include some techonological equipments such as the computer, interactive white board, 5.1 surround speaker set and short throw projection device. With the help of these equipments, the instructors can tell effective and quick lessons by using the most modern teaching methods. The lessons, taught by benefiting from all opportunities of the technology and the multimedia, show an approach to moving away from the standard inter-class English teaching; but rather considering the individual skills and talents of the students.

Movie Hall

            Movie Hall has a capacity of 100 people. It contains of long/short throw projection devices and 5.1 surround speaker set.  In addition, various meetings and all kinds of social activities organized by our students are also welcomed. 

Some courses offered in preparatory classes, some compulsory English lessons, offered in Faculty of Engineering, Agronomics and Technology, are carried out in the movie hall.
