In commemoration of December 16, Kazakhstan's Independence Day, "Kazakhstan Independence Day Cultural Activities" were organized at our university in cooperation with the Kazakh Culture and Education Application and Research Center and our Kazakhstan students.
Our Rector Prof. attended the program. Dr. Hasan Uslu, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Çiçek, our academic and administrative staff and many students attended.
The program, which started with a moment of silence and the reading of the national anthems of the two brother countries, continued with the performances prepared by our Kazakh Turkish students after the opening speech of Rector Uslu. The audience enjoyed the program with Kazakh songs, wedding and modern dance performances, and emotional moments were experienced during the theater play depicting the Jeltoksan Incidents of December 16, 1986.
“The 33rd Anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence is Celebrated with Great Pride in our University”
Speaking at the event, our Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu stated that the 33rd anniversary of the independence of our sister country, the Republic of Kazakhstan, was celebrated with great pride, hosted by our University, and said, “December 16; While it reminds our Kazakh Turk brothers of their years of pain and suffering, it also represents a meaningful and honorable day. "For the Kazakhs living in our ancestral homeland, Turkestan, whose history dates back to centuries, today is both a day of remembrance for the martyrs and the anniversary of an important beginning in which the seeds of independence were sown." he said.
“With the Understanding of Unity in Language, Ideas and Work, We See Our Destiny as One, Our Joy and Sorrow as Common”
Reminding that Turkey was the first country to recognize the independence of Kazakhstan, Rector Uslu continued his speech by saying, "Therefore, just like with other Turkish countries, we always see our destiny as one and our joy and sadness as common with Kazakhstan, with the understanding of "unity in language, ideas and work". In this sense, it is an extremely pleasing development for us that our relations on many issues, especially in the political and cultural fields, have continued to increase in recent years.” he said. Stating that our university has been increasing its bilateral cooperation and relations with higher education institutions in Kazakhstan, as well as with other universities of the Turkish world, and that it has recently organized joint activities with one of these universities, our Rector said, “We continue to develop our relations in every field and work determinedly to ensure that our unity is permanent. I hope our young people will continue to maintain this unity.” he said.
Rector Uslu continued his speech by saying, “As I end my words, I celebrate the anniversary of the founding of our brother country Kazakhstan with great pride, and commemorate all the Kazakh Turk heroes who were martyred on the path of independence with mercy and respect. As mentioned in the "Motherland March" by Turkestan artist Mehmet Sabir Karger; “Uzbek, Turkmen, Uyghur, Tatar and Azer are all one tribe. Karakalpak, Kyrgyz, Kazakh; They are a lineage!” Long live the unity of the Turkish World, long live the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Türkiye-Kazakhstan brotherhood!” He ended by saying.
The program ended with the presentation of documents and a souvenir photo taken to commemorate the day.
