It was established as the School of Physical Education and Sports affiliated to Niğde University, which was established with the law numbered 3837 and dated 03.07.1992; In 1992-1993 academic year, it started its education and training activities with the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching. In the 2002-2003 academic year, Coaching Education and Recreation Departments were initiated and students were admitted to the Coaching Education Department, and in the 2009-2010 academic year, the Sports Management Department was initiated and started to admit students. School of Physical Education and Sports was shut down, and the Faculty of Sport Sciences was established in its place with the Presidential Decree numbered 1911 published in the Official Gazette dated 25/12/2019. Our faculty provides its services in its own campus on the 9th kilometer of Niğde-Bor Road with an area of 188.317.51 m². Our faculty has three indoor sports halls, one tennis court, one astro pitch, one Olympic track and field, one physiology laboratory, one performance measurement laboratory, one anatomy class, one massage room, one mountaineering room, one step-aerobics and rhythmic gymnasium, one fitness center, one computer lab, one seminar hall, and 9 classrooms.
