The Department of Computer Technologies organized a "Universal History of Numbers Conference", which was held at the Martyr Ömer Halisdemir Congress and Culture Center.

Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Şimşek from the Department of Mathematics - Akdeniz University, Faculty of Sciences was invited as the conference speaker and the conference was attended by the academic and administrative staff as well as our students.

At the conference, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Şimşek delivered a presentation on “The Universal History of Numbers”. In his presentation, Şimşek talked about the history of numbers, their cultural development and their effects on societies. After explaining the importance and the development of numbers in science branches such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering and giving information about some of their applications, Prof. Dr. Şimşek thanked the organizers by saying “I am honored to have been invited to this event. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event.”

Our School’s Deputy Principle Prof. Dr. Hakan Demir presented the certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Şimşek and thanked everyone involved by saying “I would like to thank the academic staff who contributed to the conference, our academic and administrative staff and students who attended the conference, and Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Şimşek.”

The conference ended after document presentations and taking of commemorative photos.
