Cyber-physical systems integrate digital and analog devices, interfaces, networks, computer systems, and so on, with the natural and man-made physical world. The inherent combination of interconnected and heterogeneous behavior in these systems makes their analysis and design an exciting and challenging task. The goal of the Cyber-Physical Systems course is to provide an introduction to the fundamental principles and fundamental applications of cyber and physical systems. The main focus is on physical process models, finite state machines, computation, transducers between physical and cyber units, human-machine interaction, and digital networks. The planned content outlined for the course includes the following topics: fundamental concepts, basic devices and sensors, embedded programming—data processing and compression, networking and protocols, ready-to-use platforms, programming fundamentals, programming for data storage and communications, wearable devices, human-machine interfaces, robotics, and embedded systems.
