Course Objectives 
1The course enables the student to point out the main characteristics of Humanism, Petrarchism, Neo-Platonism and Reformation, to explain and discuss the rise and development of these concepts along with their effects on Renaissance thought.
2to perceive Renaissance English literature within the cultural, social and historical contexts.
3to discuss the prominent writers of the period and their works from different literary genres like sonnet, pastoral, epic and prose, to identify the genre characteristics.
