Course Objective
Teaching the basic issues of environment and energy sources; evaluating and discussing these energy sources.
Brief Content of the Course
Introduction; Definition of utilisation principles, types and sources of energy; Nuclear energy and wastes; Fossil fuels and environmental impacts; Power plants and environmental impacts; Hydroelectric energy, HES and environmental impacts; Global warming; Environmentally friendly technologies in energy production (Marine energy, geothermal energy, biogas and biomass, hydrogen energy, boron energy, wind power, solar energy); Energy management and control; National and international legislations on energy and environment; International agreements; Sustainable energy politics of Turkey.
