Course Objective
To teach the students about organic compounds and synthesis, to learn the methods of purification, separation and to learn the properties of hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, aldehyde-ketones, amines and their reactions,
Brief Content of the Course
Synthesis of cyclohexene, synthesis of n-butyl bromide, synthesis of camphor, synthesis of 1,2-cyclohexanediol, synthesis of toluene benzoic acid, synthesis of nitrobenzene, synthesis of sulfanilic acid, synthesis of benzoic acid and benzyl alcohol from methyl ketone, formation of diazonium salts, production of ethyl acetate , Aspirin Synthesis, Soap Synthesis, Aniline Phenol Synthesis.
